A working watermill and more in the heart of Lyme Regis ...

how to find us

Just minutes from the seafront and high street but reaching back 700 years in time, The Town Mill is a must for visitors.

Barmy Breadmaking 30th & 31st August

As the end of the school holidays draws near, there are still plenty of fun activities to do at The Town Mill.  Drop in to the Mill between 10am and 2pm on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st August, and bake the wackiest loaf you can dream up.

The volunteers at the Mill will provide the Town Mill dough and they invite families to use their imagination and shape it however they like, and bake it at the Mill to take home. All finished loaves, rolls, flatbreads and breadsticks will be photographed and entered into the Mill’s Barmy Bread contest. The creative and ingenious design with the most ‘likes’ on the Mill’s Facebook page will win a prize.  If you don’t have time to visit the mill, you can still make your barmy bread at home and drop it off at Kate’s Kitchen on Wednesday or Thursday to be photographed and entered into the contest.  Our milling tours are on offer in exchange for donations every day between 11 and 4pm, so you can find out how our delicious flour is made.
