The Strawberry Tree

The Town Mill houses an authentic taste of Spain. Strawberry Tree is a restaurant & café, cooking school, event venue and shop – a family-run project centred around a love of sharing food.

The café-restaurant serves great coffee, cakes and a short tapas menu from 12pm to 3pm and a full tapas menu from 6pm ’til late. Tables are available in their cool, quiet courtyard garden in the spring and summer. Strawberry Tree also prides itself on a carefully selected drinks menu featuring unusual Spanish wines and a fabulous list of local and Spanish dessert wines and digestifs.

A program of events, cooking classes, tutored tastings and more brings not only Spanish but British and many other cultures together in a variety of fun and convivial formats. Collaborating with the Town Mill to make and break bread together; celebrating the past and the wholesome, nutritious deliciousness of freshly milled grains.

Their shop houses beautiful and scrumptious Spanish-imported food gifts and wine, as well as local delicacies and create-your-own-hampers. Vouchers, which can be redeemed for dining, classes or in their shop, are also available and make a great gift.

Chef Giselle is the latest in a long line of chefs in her family. Strawberry Tree serves the recipes Giselle inherited, filled with the rich history and aromatic flavours of southern Spain and the Atlas mountains.  Ed, an enthusiastic foodie, Spanish speaker and translator lived in Madrid for 15 years, co-creating cooking classes from his own home.
