The baker and his breads

The Town Mill Bakery produces a wide range of artisan breads in the traditional manner, hand-moulding each individual loaf and using long fermentation to develop the full flavour of the dough. The Bakery does not use artificial enhancers or chemical improvers, but it does use flours made from organic grains, including the Town Mill's own stone-ground wholemeal flour.

             
   
   
             

OUR RANGE OF BREADS
Our very experienced baker, Aidan Chapman, produces a wide range of breads on the premises and they are available daily. Our range is evolving to meet customer demands and examples include cider and apple bread, seeded breads,  yoghurt and rosemary, chilli and many more.  Other typical products are:

Town Mill Wholemeal Cob. A 100% wholemeal loaf made with a long fermentation period and added wheat germ and malt extract to create a truly wholesome and tasty loaf.

Town Mill Malt. A malted bloomer made using an award-winning organic flour. It is baked on the floor of the oven for a wonderful crunchy and versatile loaf.

Town Mill Soda Bread Full Round. Oats, flour, honey and Denhay buttermilk, gently mixed by hand to give the bread a melt-in-the-mouth quality.
