The Town Mill Waterwheel

A working watermill and more in the heart of Lyme Regis

Open throughout the year

Escape the bustle of Lyme and step back in time to explore the Town Mill complex. Nestling around a cobbled courtyard, the restored mill buildings house an ancient working flour mill and a modern hydro-electric system generating 'green' electricity, as well as two art galleries, a pottery, a knitwear studio, a picture framer, a tea and dining room, a cheesemonger, a microbrewery, a gift shop and the Miller's garden.

Mill Visitor Comment of the Month:

'Very interesting and informative tour. Thank you very much.'

Jon and Angharad Evans, Aberdare, South Wales.

A ten-year restoration project to rescue this ancient but derelict watermill in the heart of Lyme Regis was completed in 2001. The Town Mill, dating from 1340, is now back in full working order making stone-ground flour. It is open to visitors throughout the year.
