We The Town Mill is an ancient site still producing organic, wholesome flours by traditional, stoneground methods. We value craft and tradition deeply so Millfest is a 3-day celebration of those values, particularly those that are indigenous to our locality.
With that in mind, for Millfest 2025, we are collaborating with Lyme Regis’ incredible BOAT BUILDING ACADEMY AND FURNITURE SCHOOL who provide world leading courses in boat building and furniture making which focus on professional training but also provide life-changing opportunities for complete beginners and enthusiasts. Students have the privilege of learning boat building and woodworking by the sea in the heart of Lyme Regis, on the Dorset coast on courses which range from 1 day to 40 weeks - there is a course for everyone.
During their time in the gallery this year, the BBA will be exhibiting one of their magnificent boats which emerged from the 40 week boat building course as well as a range of fine furniture and paddle and surf boards - and you’ll be able to meet the skilled people who undertake this incredible work.
The exhibition will run daily from 24 until 26 May, opening from 1100 - 1600.
