Four artist-makers come together this autumn at The Malthouse Gallery, The Town Mill in Lyme Regis, for IN OUR ELEMENT, an exhibition celebrating the inspiration they find in the landscape and environment of West Dorset.

The exhibition brings together their latest work, created over the past year, across a diverse range of media including woodsculpture, textiles, photography, printmaking, collage and painting.

Returning to the Malthouse Gallery, the artists each bring their own distinctive approach and perspective, but share a fascination with the world around them. The colours, textures, shapes and patterns of the Dorset landscape — from the grand and elemental to the tiny details that can so easily be overlooked — all provide a rich source of inspiration.

IN OUR ELEMENT is an invitation to slow down, look more closely and see the familiar in a new way. Through their different materials and creative processes, the four artists explore their connection with place and the natural world, creating work that reflects both the landscape they inhabit and the individual ways in which they experience it.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to discover new work from four local artists and to enjoy the Malthouse Gallery, a unique space within The Town Mill that continues to celebrate creativity in all its forms.

Jillian Hunt channels her creativity into abstract photography, blending it with her textile design expertise by having her images printed onto fabric which she then transforms into new creations through sewing.
