We are delighted to welcome back both Rachel Hudson and Kathie Scott to the gallery after an absence for their June exhibition. Rachel and Kathie tell us :
“Our joint exhibition is a celebration of the natural world in which we live—from gentle, evocative riverscapes to dynamic coastal scenes and vibrant floral studies. It reflects our shared love of colour, shape, and form, and seeks to express the beauty that surrounds us each day.
Much of the work is inspired by the ever-changing landscape of the West Country. The shifting light, the contours of the hills, and the movement of the sea are recurring themes. Each painting begins with a moment of visual excitement—something seen or felt—and becomes an attempt to capture that fleeting impression in paint. Rooted in observation, the work aims not to replicate but to evoke a sense of place and mood.”
