There is plenty of family fun at the Mill over the summer and we will have a special three days dedicated to children finding out all about flour milling and baking with our flour here at the Mill in August.
No booking is required to visit the Mill and entry is free of charge, please consider supporting the Mill with a donation and shop purchase before you go! Thank you.
What’s happening:
1130am & 130pm Flour milling demonstrations - come and watch our Millers at work!
See our huge water wheel turning throughout the day.
Activity sheets are available for children to fill in as they look around the Mill, with things to look out for, colouring in and quizzes!
11am - 130pm Our tasting table will be available for you to sample some delicious summer bakes, made with our wholemeal flour. FREE RECIPES TO TAKE AWAY WITH FLOUR PURCHASES.
11am, 1230pm & 2pm ‘Mini Miller’ sessions (see below) - children can mill their own flour to take home and make dinosaur biscuits!
MINI MILLER EXPERIENCE UPGRADE - £8 per child
During your visit why not join us for a very special mini milling experience!
Children will receive a bag of grain which they will hand mill, using a mini stone-ground milling machine to produce their own bag of wholemeal wheat flour to take away.
After the milling is complete, they will add a sticker with their name on the flour bag and take away their flour, along with a recipe and cookie cutter to bake dinosaur biscuits at home!
The Mini Miller Experience is suitable for school age children and they must be accompanied by an adult (no ticket required). Please allow up to 45 minutes for the session.
The experience includes: mini milling session, 150g wholemeal wheat flour, biscuit recipe and dinosaur cookie cutter.
Sessions will run at 11am, 1230pm & 2pm over the three days, to guarantee a place we advise prebooking.
